Planning Commission
The Planning Commission acts as the City Council's hearing body and forwards recommendations to the City Council on land development actions that include preparation of the City's comprehensive plan, which is the framework for land development within the City, and zoning regulations. The Planning Commission also has specific authority vested by the City Council to approve certain land use issues, such as conditional use permits and shoreline activities, with appeal to the City Council. Members shall be residents of the City.
Planning Commissioners are appointed to four-year terms, with a limit of two consecutive terms. Members shall be residents of the City. The Commission meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, at 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
